Disciplinary

Disciplinary Action/Progressive Discipline Policy:

Any violation of this handbook will be documented and will be reviewed. These violations will affect your performance evaluation and could result in loss of hours, disciplinary write ups, suspension and termination.

In instances of rule violations, improper conduct, or unsatisfactory job performance, progressive disciplinary action will be taken.

Where progressive disciplinary action is appropriate, the following types of disciplinary action will be taken:

  1. Verbal Warning - documented on a Disciplinary Action form as the first step in warning when a violation occurs.

  1. Written Warning - documented on a Disciplinary Action form as the second step when a violation occurs.

  1. Suspension - documented on a Disciplinary Action form as a final warning when a violation occurs; one week without pay

  1. Termination - documented on a Disciplinary Action form

Disciplinary actions will be approached on a case-by-case basis, taking into account all the relevant facts and factors of the situation. Additional stipulations to our disciplinary policy may be found in our 10-point system located in the office. Therefore, Chick-fil-A at Orland Park retains the right to skip any of the steps of progressive discipline if circumstances necessitate. Chick-fil-A at Orland Park also reserves the right to discipline an employee at any time for inappropriate conduct or behavior, whether or not such conduct is referenced or mentioned in this policy.

All disciplinary action will be reviewed and reset quarterly, meaning that every three months, verbal and written warnings will be evaluated and potentially eliminated. Management reserves the right to retain and rollover any form of disciplinary action from one quarter to another. This decision can be made based on disciplinary action time given, frequency of similar write ups, or any other factor deemed necessary by leadership.
